Some babies fall asleep almost before you're out of the driveway, but others won't spend five happy minutes in their car seats. Usually, this is because your baby is used to more freedom of movement and more physical attention than you can provide when she's belted into her seat. Hearing your baby cry while you are trying to drive is challenging. Even though it's difficult to deal with, remember that you and your baby's safety are most important. Parents sometimes take a crying baby out of the car seat, which is extremely dangerous and makes it even more difficult for the baby to get used to riding in the car seat. Some parents make poor driving decisions when their babies are crying, which puts everyone in the car at risk. Either pull over and calm your baby down, or focus on your driving. Don't try to do both.

OK, summer is here and the number one change in our house is the daily sunscreen fights. The kids go to camp and they turn red/brown almost immediately. Having grown up in the best state in the union; Florida, I know a little more about skin cancer than the average Dude!. The father of my best buddy growing up is a doctor and he says statistically every sunburn increases your chances of skin cancer by 1%. Not a bad thing to think about when your little dudes and dudettes are going outside.
I have seen my parents’ friends go repeatedly to the doctor to be cut up and have skin cancers cut off. My golf buddy had re-constructive surgery to replace his nose. And my friend’s mother recently died from skin cancer that had spread throughout her body. Age 52…
Dude! You probably already have relegated yourself to looking like an old leather baseball glove in your 50’s. But, at least you can impose sunscreen on you little ones.
